Below is the part result of a quilt we are working on at Patchwork on Parker in the Wednesday class.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We will be donating it to CanAssist in the next few weeks, so stay posted to see it when it is finished, although you can now follow all the action at the new blog address, and I apologise to anyone who had difficulty accessing it, I typed the address in the last post incorrectly - only by one letter. Here it is <a href="http://www.countrymattersdesign.com/">www.countrymattersdesign.com</a> </div>

<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0Io-qfrAbQw/URoN97wyjLI/AAAAAAAAAho/5s77valySVo/s1600/DSCF3270.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0Io-qfrAbQw/URoN97wyjLI/AAAAAAAAAho/5s77valySVo/s400/DSCF3270.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I must apologise for being off air for so long, there has been a multitude of reasons which I will not go into but it has been a busy summer, hot and dry and I feel I am back to normal at least for now. <br />
<br />
Big news though that I will announce, I have created (with some help) a new blog/website for you to look at and for me to be able to give you a better look at what I have to offer. As you will see I will still be blog posting but there are other places to look for patterns, classes etc. The new place to find me is <a href="http://www.countrymattersdesigns.com/">www.countrymattersdesigns.com</a> - it still has a little of fine tuning to be done, baby steps for someone like me who struggles with technology at times. For those of you who are members I think you will have to re sign, any problems, let me know. This blog will stay here but all the new info will be on the new website. <br />
<br />
Okay, I will sign off and get busy with some stitching, there will be plenty of news coming very soon I promise, till then, <br />
<br />
JanelleJanelle Noackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12890721461272172725noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1265473904069828744.post-1816967689356017612012-11-09T00:00:00.000+11:002012-11-09T00:00:02.111+11:00Today is Blog Tour day<br />
Yipee here we are on blog tour day for me. Introducing my block, Roving Ring, which can be found on page 43, Block #552. I loved making this block, and could make a whole quilt just by repeating it over and over again - probably will so watch this space. I started with four reproduction shirtings, and cut into squares, then triangles, then sewed back into squares. Some people cannot understand why we do this process of cutting up fabric only to sew it up again! <br />
<br />
This is where my addiction to paper piecing comes in and instead of hexagons, this time I have used pentagons, with scrappy reproduction reds from the basket. What do you think? This could work with any colour - try blues, greens, black and white, brights, or what about just use all the colours in one!<br />
<br />
So for inspiration, have a look below and also through the other 99 blocks on the link <a href="http://quiltmaker.com/quiltypleasures">quiltmaker.com/quiltypleasures</a> or if you leave a comment by Wednesday 14 November, you will go into the running to win a copy of the magazine and a Country Matters pattern.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-C_yiWQrx8LM/UJrzWUXXTfI/AAAAAAAAAgA/qy9WDCy7WU8/s1600/DSCF3405.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-C_yiWQrx8LM/UJrzWUXXTfI/AAAAAAAAAgA/qy9WDCy7WU8/s400/DSCF3405.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So, here I have made four blocks and joined them together, you get a secondary effect,<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ASMFoO2nQtw/UJrze3rPNBI/AAAAAAAAAgI/whHBaX7jc0g/s1600/DSCF3406.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ASMFoO2nQtw/UJrze3rPNBI/AAAAAAAAAgI/whHBaX7jc0g/s400/DSCF3406.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And below, I took the photo on point, isn't that effective. Makes it look quite different.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j9_xwELLJo4/UJrzs6ke_DI/AAAAAAAAAgQ/shPe431Afh4/s1600/DSCF3407.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j9_xwELLJo4/UJrzs6ke_DI/AAAAAAAAAgQ/shPe431Afh4/s400/DSCF3407.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now for something completely different, I have been also working on Anni Downes quilt Some Kind of Wonderful, just have binding to go, and I put it together in a quilt-as-you-go format. This has some lovely blocks in it, quite a treasure to make and have for someone special.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xYdtXh5PtGc/UJrz6cpnB1I/AAAAAAAAAgY/JP4nQc3ezwQ/s1600/DSCF3411.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xYdtXh5PtGc/UJrz6cpnB1I/AAAAAAAAAgY/JP4nQc3ezwQ/s400/DSCF3411.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fVEWTinVzHM/UJr0ExCY7-I/AAAAAAAAAgg/0WfJSdqac_o/s1600/DSCF3412.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fVEWTinVzHM/UJr0ExCY7-I/AAAAAAAAAgg/0WfJSdqac_o/s400/DSCF3412.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Back to the hexagons. As this being a special blog day, thought I would share this with you. It is the beginning of a mosiac hexagon quilt from Annette Gero's book Fabric of Society, using 1/2" hexagons. This is a work in progress (probably for a few years!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bnB9t6oJleY/UJr0Pl-sbCI/AAAAAAAAAgs/TPfXJ22r1v8/s1600/DSCF3414.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bnB9t6oJleY/UJr0Pl-sbCI/AAAAAAAAAgs/TPfXJ22r1v8/s400/DSCF3414.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Remember some red hexagons I showed you earlier in the year, they are now in a quilt top, as you can see, pins are in and waiting for the last of the quilting.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g4PtQnaRWM0/UJr0YRhL6DI/AAAAAAAAAg0/1Cm8CL7MOLU/s1600/DSCF3415.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g4PtQnaRWM0/UJr0YRhL6DI/AAAAAAAAAg0/1Cm8CL7MOLU/s400/DSCF3415.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Finally, more of the Mulberries Of Amaroo versions, Faye has done this one in the Wagga class, gorgeous reproduction blues and browns, <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f7yKb3-wiCg/UJrzEa7fH1I/AAAAAAAAAfw/aecsq8-RGYc/s1600/DSCF3402.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f7yKb3-wiCg/UJrzEa7fH1I/AAAAAAAAAfw/aecsq8-RGYc/s400/DSCF3402.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dr8gAumYPLA/UJrzMluLC8I/AAAAAAAAAf4/_JUhn1FGwvk/s1600/DSCF3403.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dr8gAumYPLA/UJrzMluLC8I/AAAAAAAAAf4/_JUhn1FGwvk/s400/DSCF3403.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And another on the way in pinks and soft reds.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
As it is Spring here, my cushion pattern, Bottom Garden has been popular recently, quite large cushions but quick to make with a little stitching and applique. Email me if you are interested in a copy.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-riIluMYWDW8/UJry7jj7hmI/AAAAAAAAAfo/0yj4rxaC6x4/s1600/DSCF3401.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-riIluMYWDW8/UJry7jj7hmI/AAAAAAAAAfo/0yj4rxaC6x4/s400/DSCF3401.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Could not leave without showing you one more iris blooming in my garden this week, love this colour combination.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
I think I have gone on for long enough, hope you have enjoyed the post and blog tour, and thankyou to Quiltmakers 100 Blocks for letting me be a part of it again. Maybe I will see you next time, and don't forget to leave a comment to have a chance to win.<br />
<br />
In the meantime, I will keep those fingers stitching.<br />

I must say I was very happy to have this quilt finished, it is a massive king size and weighs a ton, but my Civil War Chronicles quilt is finally complete! Here it is pictured at the Temora Rural Museum, along with other quilts that were part of Patches of Heaven exhibition earlier this month. They will be there till the end of the month (only another week - where has the year gone), so if you are passing through, call in for a coffee and a browse.<br />

Now, for some other news, early next month, the next edition of Quiltmakers 100 Blocks Vol. 6 will be released, and I am thrilled to say I will have a block in it again. There will be a blog tour from Nov 5 - 9 which I am fortunate to be part of with giveaways and prizes - more info when the day gets closer. </div>

<br />
If you happen to be travelling around this weekend and you find yourself between Wagga and Albury there is a little town called Boree Creek, hosting a quilt show that you should go and see. This is a biannual exhibition of locally made quilts and items, as you can see from the photos, they have put alot of work into it and they look beautiful.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Loq9eWcRUKI/UHZkHlJWcDI/AAAAAAAAAb4/W6kMLhDgorQ/s1600/Boree+Creek+quilt+show+2012+-+no+2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Loq9eWcRUKI/UHZkHlJWcDI/AAAAAAAAAb4/W6kMLhDgorQ/s400/Boree+Creek+quilt+show+2012+-+no+2.jpeg" width="298" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is their raffle quilt, a fantastic version of my design, the Whirlygig. You can still buy tickets to win this great quilt made by the Boree Creek ladies.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RI1Gqeml2hs/UHZkm-HazSI/AAAAAAAAAcI/EfoNjwGI8NU/s1600/Boree+Creek+raffle+quilt+-+purple+whirlygig.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RI1Gqeml2hs/UHZkm-HazSI/AAAAAAAAAcI/EfoNjwGI8NU/s400/Boree+Creek+raffle+quilt+-+purple+whirlygig.jpeg" width="298" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Because it is a quilt as you go pattern, it is reversible - this is the back!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A little taste of more of what is on show...</div>

<br />
Firstly, just wanted to share with you some more Lucy Boston blocks that I made over the last couple of weeks, to prove that I have been doing some sewing since my last post, blending a couple of old fabrics with some new ones.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zwZ1TmFtbnE/UG1r1o80UCI/AAAAAAAAAbM/ovp0mBM9OXs/s1600/DSCF3351.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zwZ1TmFtbnE/UG1r1o80UCI/AAAAAAAAAbM/ovp0mBM9OXs/s400/DSCF3351.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--1UWivzgWTo/UG1r_geAAxI/AAAAAAAAAbU/bZ9lDNBVQKw/s1600/DSCF3352.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--1UWivzgWTo/UG1r_geAAxI/AAAAAAAAAbU/bZ9lDNBVQKw/s400/DSCF3352.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IOm7DSTHb48/UG1rteYUPZI/AAAAAAAAAbE/HK1u7TV3LDw/s1600/DSCF3350.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IOm7DSTHb48/UG1rteYUPZI/AAAAAAAAAbE/HK1u7TV3LDw/s400/DSCF3350.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oESVZ2nwH-I/UG1rkRMqE3I/AAAAAAAAAa8/xv0UlmeguAg/s1600/DSCF3349.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oESVZ2nwH-I/UG1rkRMqE3I/AAAAAAAAAa8/xv0UlmeguAg/s400/DSCF3349.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is some of the spring blooms in my garden, the gorgeous wisteria that sits at the side of the house and makes a magnificent display every year<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LbJjtbKt-_0/UG1qye7l9FI/AAAAAAAAAaY/WS05DMfYmio/s1600/DSCF3347.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LbJjtbKt-_0/UG1qye7l9FI/AAAAAAAAAaY/WS05DMfYmio/s400/DSCF3347.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Then there are the bearded iris, a favourite of mine and have them in all parts of the garden, these are just a couple of the early ones that are out. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-T6OBtFVSH8E/UG1q9wQ9psI/AAAAAAAAAak/fP89ITH4MeE/s1600/DSCF3338.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-T6OBtFVSH8E/UG1q9wQ9psI/AAAAAAAAAak/fP89ITH4MeE/s400/DSCF3338.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nf6ZUaTsgU8/UG1rPhW2sEI/AAAAAAAAAas/_pDVkItV4eQ/s1600/DSCF3343.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nf6ZUaTsgU8/UG1rPhW2sEI/AAAAAAAAAas/_pDVkItV4eQ/s400/DSCF3343.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And my little pot of violets by the back door.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-20wUjW-LFH0/UG1raPZsJaI/AAAAAAAAAa0/lVtaWvSWSVU/s1600/DSCF3344.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-20wUjW-LFH0/UG1raPZsJaI/AAAAAAAAAa0/lVtaWvSWSVU/s400/DSCF3344.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Hope you are enjoying Spring were you are, and will have some updates and news for you soon, till next time<br />

<br />
So what has been happening here with me lately, that is a very good question. <br />
<br />
Firstly, I would like to announce that the pattern for Roses in the Attic is now available under my Country Matters format, if you would like a copy just email your details to me. It is quite a quick one to make, having has less fabrics to use if you want to keep it simpler with fabric choices etc.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ofJIqdXX8s4/UFFyy7cSFNI/AAAAAAAAAYs/jcjiOzV-EIs/s1600/DSCF3077.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ofJIqdXX8s4/UFFyy7cSFNI/AAAAAAAAAYs/jcjiOzV-EIs/s400/DSCF3077.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Secondly, a couple of weeks ago we had the fabulous pleasure of Chris Jurd down at Wagga to spend the weekend with us, inspire and teach us new things. She bought with her a lovely case full of quilts for show and tell, and I attempted at a couple of the blocks of her Lots of Dots quilt.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3fKacuix0tU/UFFzAsC5fRI/AAAAAAAAAY0/Rqq6AR-1zAY/s1600/DSCF3303.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3fKacuix0tU/UFFzAsC5fRI/AAAAAAAAAY0/Rqq6AR-1zAY/s400/DSCF3303.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
This one was Bev's<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oD5iJWvv_zA/UFFzlOyydfI/AAAAAAAAAZQ/OWiDN34GMSY/s1600/DSCF3306.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oD5iJWvv_zA/UFFzlOyydfI/AAAAAAAAAZQ/OWiDN34GMSY/s400/DSCF3306.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This one was mine, trying to match up with a bedroom</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RooWJvws784/UFFz8p45f3I/AAAAAAAAAZg/nOroQEn85so/s1600/DSCF3332.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RooWJvws784/UFFz8p45f3I/AAAAAAAAAZg/nOroQEn85so/s400/DSCF3332.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and this is the second one, slightly smaller. Originally I was going to do more, but will now leave them for awhile, perhaps cushions will be there destiny.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Urej3IJ3A3Q/UFF0JaErqDI/AAAAAAAAAZo/Ljh3xJnWKjI/s1600/DSCF3333.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Urej3IJ3A3Q/UFF0JaErqDI/AAAAAAAAAZo/Ljh3xJnWKjI/s400/DSCF3333.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
These two were up the other end of the table, just stunning.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3_HJ4USgnsM/UFFzLMpVZXI/AAAAAAAAAY8/m9vUUwiP7hI/s1600/DSCF3304.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3_HJ4USgnsM/UFFzLMpVZXI/AAAAAAAAAY8/m9vUUwiP7hI/s400/DSCF3304.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vSao16d2osM/UFFzZKE9qTI/AAAAAAAAAZI/NWN_Xo7m-i0/s1600/DSCF3305.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vSao16d2osM/UFFzZKE9qTI/AAAAAAAAAZI/NWN_Xo7m-i0/s400/DSCF3305.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And back to class happenings, Brenda is one of the newcomers to class, she has made my Salvation Jane, but added an extra geese and block border for a queen size. It is just gorgeous,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uZ7EhqJG7kM/UFF0WarnwvI/AAAAAAAAAZw/wgsS_42GZCU/s1600/DSCF3326.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uZ7EhqJG7kM/UFF0WarnwvI/AAAAAAAAAZw/wgsS_42GZCU/s400/DSCF3326.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
and this is a close up of the corner square and fabrics.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7oYBIJEBu6U/UFF0gcZyMgI/AAAAAAAAAZ4/4E58or6EbMQ/s1600/DSCF3327.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7oYBIJEBu6U/UFF0gcZyMgI/AAAAAAAAAZ4/4E58or6EbMQ/s400/DSCF3327.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Thirdly, more quilt shows. Ariah Park (west of Temora) are having and Quilt and Craft show on the weekend of 20 and 21 October, 10 am to 4pm as part of the Mary Gilmore Cultural Festival. There will be a Christmas challenge (wall hanging, table runner or tree decoration) as well as Country music and market day. For more information email Helen Judd at: <a href="mailto:nigeljudd@bigpond.com.au">nigeljudd@bigpond.com.au</a> <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The spring weather is creeping in longer days and it will be nice to see the flowering trees and shrubs bloom and green up. Canola paddocks are a brilliant yellow now and it won't be long till we get to the business end of the year. I won't think about it yet, but shall leave you for now to go and make a nice coffee and play with fabric (lol)!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Bye for now, Janelle xx</div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I spent the weekend out at Jugiong at the quilt show, which was a lovely way to spend two days - inside nice and warm and talking to ladies about patchwork, drinking coffee and enjoying the homemade treats (I cannot eat at all this week to make up for it!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was a red hexagon quilt that I made for it, but didn't quite get finished in time. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-87gLyRSaUJA/UDwKaim6XuI/AAAAAAAAAXI/c1eyz1VSPA4/s1600/DSCF3315.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-87gLyRSaUJA/UDwKaim6XuI/AAAAAAAAAXI/c1eyz1VSPA4/s400/DSCF3315.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Remember that they where just a pile of blocks...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-isR8glXFfVs/UDwL6tpMGAI/AAAAAAAAAX8/3VswWThASxI/s1600/DSCF3145.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-isR8glXFfVs/UDwL6tpMGAI/AAAAAAAAAX8/3VswWThASxI/s400/DSCF3145.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And don't you just love that red border fabric, a new fabric that I had only just bought (I might have to go back and get some more!!).<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pnyjb1XO3bw/UDwKzuo2_BI/AAAAAAAAAXY/0nELPI0eZxw/s1600/DSCF3317.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pnyjb1XO3bw/UDwKzuo2_BI/AAAAAAAAAXY/0nELPI0eZxw/s400/DSCF3317.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The theme was hearts and hexagons, so there where plenty of the little chaps hanging around, this quilt top was gorgeous, made by Janelle Manwaring (who organised the weekend)<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-f7Xp5fgmGXE/UDwLAwEeuBI/AAAAAAAAAXg/vbJMxOQ0C1I/s1600/DSCF3323.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-f7Xp5fgmGXE/UDwLAwEeuBI/AAAAAAAAAXg/vbJMxOQ0C1I/s400/DSCF3323.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This was one of mine made from leftover florals and scraps from about 4 other quilts.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9qy_D1cuXlo/UDwMJCqF35I/AAAAAAAAAYE/7FL0cl9b-r4/s1600/DSCF2894.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9qy_D1cuXlo/UDwMJCqF35I/AAAAAAAAAYE/7FL0cl9b-r4/s400/DSCF2894.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This was my spot in the corner all set up and ready for the rush<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xIZEm8GHT7o/UDwMskdum6I/AAAAAAAAAYM/WcFx2j4C7Jc/s1600/DSCF3321.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xIZEm8GHT7o/UDwMskdum6I/AAAAAAAAAYM/WcFx2j4C7Jc/s400/DSCF3321.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This was an entry made by Lyn - very cute little houses!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Pn3T05pPFFY/UDwLOvnhyRI/AAAAAAAAAXs/eiUW7xJ0h4o/s1600/DSCF3324.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Pn3T05pPFFY/UDwLOvnhyRI/AAAAAAAAAXs/eiUW7xJ0h4o/s400/DSCF3324.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Being a but of a purple freak, couldn't resist this one, a fat and skinny log cabin<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fR8IphMp59I/UDwLgIosrGI/AAAAAAAAAX0/E0_OuXE9PRk/s1600/DSCF3325.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fR8IphMp59I/UDwLgIosrGI/AAAAAAAAAX0/E0_OuXE9PRk/s400/DSCF3325.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The next two are from the Wednesday class at Patchwork on Parker (formerly Cootamundra Sewing Centre) - Lyn's ABC quilt for a very special little girl<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mZju0Tf9Yz0/UDwKMXPebmI/AAAAAAAAAXA/GSq1tqHIfqM/s1600/DSCF3282.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mZju0Tf9Yz0/UDwKMXPebmI/AAAAAAAAAXA/GSq1tqHIfqM/s400/DSCF3282.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And Ronnies work in progress doing the Dorothy quilt, using up checks and plaids.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nPFDPgbXq6o/UDwKlM5a3kI/AAAAAAAAAXQ/Se0paPyt1lc/s1600/DSCF3281.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nPFDPgbXq6o/UDwKlM5a3kI/AAAAAAAAAXQ/Se0paPyt1lc/s400/DSCF3281.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
If you are ever going through Cootamundra, make a stop at this great shop (next to Woolworths) there is always new stock arriving, and a fantastic range of reproduction fabrics as well as many other styles, wool and haberdashery. It seems that I can never walk out the door empty handed and you won't either. I run classes every Wednesday and all my designs are available there. So call in and say hello, we would love to meet you.<br />
<br />
The sun is now trying to shine out from under the clouds, might go and do a spot of gardening (to wear off all the cake I ate on the weekend!)<br />
<br />
See you next time,<br />

<br />
This weekend at the Jugiong Memorial Hall will be a wonderful exhibition of quilts and crafts, as well as a pincushion competition and redwork challenge, under the theme of Hearts and hexagons.<br />
You will be able to purchase a delicous homemade light lunch and proceeds go towards the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. This event is only held every two years so don't miss it - if you can make it over you won't be dissappointed.<br />
<br />
Save the date - coming up in October - 13 and 14th the lovely ladies at Boree Creek will be holding a Quilt and Craft Exhibition in the memorial hall featuring locally made quilts and crafts. More information phone Karen on 0269 271495.<br />
<br />
Another save the date for November - The Community Chest organisation of Cootamundra will also be holding a quilt show in the town hall on the 10 and 11th November. This event is held to raise money for serious heart, lung and kidney medical equipment and support in the Cootamundra area, so consider supporting this worthwhile cause. More information phone Marion on 6942 2026, but I will have more on that as it gets closer. <br />
<br />
So, better keep those sewing machines going and churning out the quilts to give great displays of local craft. I will have a table at all three shows, so come and say hello I would love to see you. I am sorry there are no photos this week, but promise to have plenty of show and tell next time.<br />
<br />
Bye till then<br />
<br />

I was about to add a blog post last weekend to do some bragging, when the computer decided it did not want to turn on at all!! So a couple of mad dashes to town to get it fixed and purchase a new monitor and I am back in action. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, here is the thing. Below is a photo of a smiling me, standing next to my Blackgate Interchange quilt, which as you can see has blue ribbon pinned to it. It got first prize in the category of commercially quilted at the Canberra Quilt Show, quilting done by Sarah Lennon <a href="http://www.temoraquilter.com/">www.temoraquilter.com</a> who always does a great job with any size or style of quilt. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ze-KIKJ7bSs/UCyxI5zLWuI/AAAAAAAAAOk/T4xJKYn2Jt0/s1600/DSCF3290.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ze-KIKJ7bSs/UCyxI5zLWuI/AAAAAAAAAOk/T4xJKYn2Jt0/s400/DSCF3290.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Ribbons to prove it was real and not just a prank call, I was so thrilled as there were so many beautiful quilts, I don't know how the judges decide a winner. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mpKkKQZER6Q/UCywSG88DbI/AAAAAAAAAOI/cxsfjkQn_TE/s1600/DSCF3287.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mpKkKQZER6Q/UCywSG88DbI/AAAAAAAAAOI/cxsfjkQn_TE/s400/DSCF3287.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
To put another feather in the cap, the judges awarded a special prize for Retaining the Tradition. I couldn't believe it - certainly made my week!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f3UHk1Tkrg8/UCywiAaY1SI/AAAAAAAAAOQ/UDGpE4ylzWU/s1600/DSCF3286.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f3UHk1Tkrg8/UCywiAaY1SI/AAAAAAAAAOQ/UDGpE4ylzWU/s400/DSCF3286.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Just in case you didn't get a good look at it before, here is another view. I have released a pattern for it, if you are interested just send me a comment or email at <a href="mailto:jillimar@bigpond.com">jillimar@bigpond.com</a> and I can give you the details.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-agRG5G6Je0g/UCyyR3jvlZI/AAAAAAAAAO8/F4BuWZaD8cU/s1600/DSCF3293.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-agRG5G6Je0g/UCyyR3jvlZI/AAAAAAAAAO8/F4BuWZaD8cU/s400/DSCF3293.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Now for a couple of class pics from the other week, I think Helen has been bitten by the hexagon bug, she made this lovely tablerunner from the 3/4" size - very nice.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DB4TcwFhoOo/UCzH0MBOQuI/AAAAAAAAAPY/zttwN4Y3rPs/s1600/DSCF3271.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DB4TcwFhoOo/UCzH0MBOQuI/AAAAAAAAAPY/zttwN4Y3rPs/s400/DSCF3271.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is Barb's gorgeous Golly quilt, a little time in the making but well worth it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AfLj7yf_5VQ/UCzIhdVfwhI/AAAAAAAAAPo/1LWBMaLuFeI/s1600/DSCF3280.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AfLj7yf_5VQ/UCzIhdVfwhI/AAAAAAAAAPo/1LWBMaLuFeI/s400/DSCF3280.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And Kaye's version of my Mulberries of Amaroo pattern in blues and purples, my photo does not do it justice, it turned out very well. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have more excitement coming up this weekend, as Chris Jurd is coming to town to do a class on the Lots of Dots quilt that she got first prize in Sydney with last year. Hopefully I will have lots of show and tell next week for you, until then stay well and warm, Janelle. </div>

There has not been alot happening on the sewing front at my place, trying to work out what to work on first and maybe finish something or head out to the garden where I don't have to think about it.<br />
<br />
My Wednesday group have been busy over the holiday break and below is Sharon's version of a bargello design. It is just 5 fabrics and it is stunning, she has done an amazing job. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NWJvUGK14-k/UBTo5cfAkzI/AAAAAAAAAMs/zKe1D4A4dek/s1600/DSCF3266.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NWJvUGK14-k/UBTo5cfAkzI/AAAAAAAAAMs/zKe1D4A4dek/s400/DSCF3266.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
A couple of close up pics...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bfx-egi-IK4/UBTpFMnCdkI/AAAAAAAAAM4/12o872buMqY/s1600/DSCF3267.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bfx-egi-IK4/UBTpFMnCdkI/AAAAAAAAAM4/12o872buMqY/s400/DSCF3267.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
A job well done, now for the quilting!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y6KUiWSS4AI/UBTpRQNhA7I/AAAAAAAAANA/-8Ie_6bNaH8/s1600/DSCF3268.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y6KUiWSS4AI/UBTpRQNhA7I/AAAAAAAAANA/-8Ie_6bNaH8/s400/DSCF3268.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
This is Kaye's take on the French Dresden that was a class project, it was good to get it to this stage to do the quilting.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uRNfd1lmUFs/UBTpdcf0Y6I/AAAAAAAAANI/ZaCmYJJlG14/s1600/DSCF3270.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uRNfd1lmUFs/UBTpdcf0Y6I/AAAAAAAAANI/ZaCmYJJlG14/s400/DSCF3270.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And now for Helen's table runner with appliqued hexagons. It was gorgeous and just to say she has another hexagon project on the way (addicted for sure!) <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1HtSLKlY_44/UBTppeK_1sI/AAAAAAAAANQ/V4rwdrxWbho/s1600/DSCF3271.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1HtSLKlY_44/UBTppeK_1sI/AAAAAAAAANQ/V4rwdrxWbho/s400/DSCF3271.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Maybe I will get out some hand work and do some hexagons too, while watching the Olympics tonight - leave you to it, till next time<br />

I apologise for a gap in blog posts, it has been a sad month for our family as a very close family member passed away recently. We needed a break from all the goings on and when the sun came out the other day, it was decided that a bbq up on the hill was just what the doctor ordered. A couple of snaps of the view - although it was sunny and it looks like a lovely day, the wind chill factor kept us close to the fire as you can tell by the clouds rolling in. The view from up there is amazing, I love going up there and picking up sticks - there is a small amount of pyromaniac in me - making a fire and the kids cooking marshmellows on a stick. Very theraputic.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3deqtjMG1as/UAJsNZyRR9I/AAAAAAAAAMI/LxvWtzI9vkk/s1600/DSCF3135.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3deqtjMG1as/UAJsNZyRR9I/AAAAAAAAAMI/LxvWtzI9vkk/s400/DSCF3135.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Just slightly around the hill a little more.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6q5w4yfbD38/UAJrlJvDOqI/AAAAAAAAAMA/TiF1ioj9fyk/s1600/DSCF3134.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6q5w4yfbD38/UAJrlJvDOqI/AAAAAAAAAMA/TiF1ioj9fyk/s400/DSCF3134.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Okay, back to the important stuff, fabric!<br />
<br />
For anyone who may be interested, there will be a <strong>Quilt and Craft Exhibition at Jugiong</strong>, NSW (right on the Hume Highway) on the weekend of <strong>25/26 August</strong>. The theme is <strong>Hearts and Hexagons</strong>, with a redwork challenge for quilts etc. There will be stalls, light luncheon available and much more. If you are wanting more information please ring Janelle Manwaring on 0263 866 289 or you can email me at <a href="mailto:jillimar@bigpond.com">jillimar@bigpond.com</a> and I will pass on the message.<br />
<br />
This is the start of something I hope to have finished for that, plus a few other things - does anyone know where I can buy some time?<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ruQKBgAqJi0/UAJsdR1wkOI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/FIhAa-ivMVA/s1600/DSCF3145.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ruQKBgAqJi0/UAJsdR1wkOI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/FIhAa-ivMVA/s400/DSCF3145.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Also, just wanting to share with you Noeline's version of Whirlygig, which she made last month using up some old fabrics from her cupboard and added a few new ones, just has a couple of sashings and binding to put on and its all done.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NetDMgMJ5ew/UAJs0qvJqmI/AAAAAAAAAMY/hUTeoKk1lfo/s1600/DSCF3103.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NetDMgMJ5ew/UAJs0qvJqmI/AAAAAAAAAMY/hUTeoKk1lfo/s400/DSCF3103.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Well its starting to get dark so time to go and fill up the wood box and get something organised for tea, till next time,<br />

There have been lots going on at home, but also wanting to get this finished so I could show it to you in one piece. The latest range of French General fabric came out awhile ago, and I loved it the moment I saw it, and straight away I thought it might make a great dresden, something I have been wanting to do for awhile.<br />
<br />
So I started with the idea of 3 dresdens and just a simple table runner, <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6q9695rGvZQ/T93CIq7lKOI/AAAAAAAAALA/ogWoOQxEyaU/s1600/DSCF3061.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6q9695rGvZQ/T93CIq7lKOI/AAAAAAAAALA/ogWoOQxEyaU/s400/DSCF3061.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
These are the fabrics I used,<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v_tkRjW4UYU/T93DApF17wI/AAAAAAAAALI/d8ZvfP10X2Y/s1600/DSCF3071.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v_tkRjW4UYU/T93DApF17wI/AAAAAAAAALI/d8ZvfP10X2Y/s400/DSCF3071.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I got it all cut and sewn together ready to quilt. The next day when I looked at it, I thought that it was not right, it needs to be bigger, so I unpicked it all and made another 6 dresdens.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yugg0NQzYLo/T93JqiJuDaI/AAAAAAAAALU/BqWr0xn2ir0/s1600/DSCF3078.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yugg0NQzYLo/T93JqiJuDaI/AAAAAAAAALU/BqWr0xn2ir0/s400/DSCF3078.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is it, below, with all the borders. It is now ready to quilt, and I am NOT unpicking it again!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KYVIHN4G-h0/T93J20Txi7I/AAAAAAAAALc/u3vKwrV5Q2E/s1600/DSCF3107.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KYVIHN4G-h0/T93J20Txi7I/AAAAAAAAALc/u3vKwrV5Q2E/s400/DSCF3107.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Just a little of bragging to be done! If any of you have a copy of the latest Australian Patchwork and Quilting magazine, you will recognize the quilt below. Level Crossing is made from some of my favourite reproduction fabrics, and I feel very lucky to have it in AP&Q's lastest edition, also a great project by Chris Jurd using another of my favourite things - hexagons!<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Last weekend I travelled over to Young, where the Lions Club put together a quilt show in the Town Hall. I set up a small trading table on the Sunday to hopefully meet a few of the local people and convert them to my style of patchwork.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KAC3wjz4npw/T8LzgzygNqI/AAAAAAAAAKE/sAhAMYl8jrQ/s1600/DSCF3096.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KAC3wjz4npw/T8LzgzygNqI/AAAAAAAAAKE/sAhAMYl8jrQ/s400/DSCF3096.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Below are Roxanne, Cynthia and Aunty June, who came along to have a look at my quilts, I will have to say that it's great to have family connections to come along and make the stand look busy, not to mention the wonderful help they gave me when it came time to pack up. Thanks cous's.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vdXyjo89AtU/T8LzplwUA2I/AAAAAAAAAKM/Rj14gN3_764/s1600/DSCF3097.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vdXyjo89AtU/T8LzplwUA2I/AAAAAAAAAKM/Rj14gN3_764/s400/DSCF3097.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is Roxanne's quilt, a tribute to her father, it is made from all of his jeans and flannelette shirts, it was very effective, and had a couple of family photos included as well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CbMYZUC-QNY/T8L0Nf7VA3I/AAAAAAAAAKs/VZmgnco_8rs/s1600/DSCF3101.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CbMYZUC-QNY/T8L0Nf7VA3I/AAAAAAAAAKs/VZmgnco_8rs/s400/DSCF3101.JPG" width="265" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
A closer look,<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qBYvHprkm4c/T8L0V9mz3FI/AAAAAAAAAK0/4YL9Y7qDb0g/s1600/DSCF3102.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qBYvHprkm4c/T8L0V9mz3FI/AAAAAAAAAK0/4YL9Y7qDb0g/s400/DSCF3102.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is Cynthia's gorgeous quilt, my photography doesn't do the quilt and the fabric justice. Made for a special little girl.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qJL-SM5FM8w/T8Lz63xB9kI/AAAAAAAAAKc/qNhpkVclCYw/s1600/DSCF3099.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qJL-SM5FM8w/T8Lz63xB9kI/AAAAAAAAAKc/qNhpkVclCYw/s400/DSCF3099.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is one that I entered, Secret Garden, designed by Cindy Lammon with a couple of changes.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dhZIKMYSiV8/T8L0D5XcCdI/AAAAAAAAAKk/5qVmsZjBZUk/s1600/DSCF3100.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dhZIKMYSiV8/T8L0D5XcCdI/AAAAAAAAAKk/5qVmsZjBZUk/s400/DSCF3100.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I just had to take a photo of this quilt, it was my viewer's choice pick, maker and designer unknown, the centre and colours were stunning.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RGdLjCCt3Y4/T8LzyuJ_rQI/AAAAAAAAAKU/wGZ5i_NOyjQ/s1600/DSCF3098.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RGdLjCCt3Y4/T8LzyuJ_rQI/AAAAAAAAAKU/wGZ5i_NOyjQ/s400/DSCF3098.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And, not to brag, I was thrilled to have been voted viewer's choice in conjunction with a second quilt, judges declared it a draw between my version of Breast of Friends and an amazing embroidered quilt. Thankyou everyone for your votes and coming over to say hello. It was a great day and hopefully everyone will be back again next year for another great show.<br />
<br />
Until next time,<br />

<br />
To say it was a success is an understatement, I was just blown away by the amount of comments and lovely things you all had to say about my blocks - I had to go and buy a bigger hat! I want to thank all of those people who left a comment and made the time to come and visit my blog in the last week, and trying to pick just a handful of winners was extremely hard. It is the positiveness and inspiration of your words that make me get into the sewing room and want to keep sewing and working on new things (and finish old ones) and knowing that there are so many great sewers out there in the world wide blog world is just fantastic, simply amazing.<br />
<br />
It took some time to sort through all the comments and emails, but the winners of patterns and magazines are: VickiT, Racheldaisy, SewLindaAnn, Nancy Sue, Chris Jurd, Donna, May Britt, Kwitnkat, Quiltsue, Hafza, Rachell, Lisa, Kris, boutscholsis, bairdmtn. Congratulations and enjoy your little prizes when they arrive in the mail, hope you like them.<br />
<br />
Back to the cutting mat, got some more work to do, see you all again soon, <br />

Hello and welcome to my blog, as part of Quiltmakers 100 Blocks Blogtour. If this is the first time you have been to my blog, or you are a repeat visitor, I invite you to make a coffee and have a browse. I am excited to be part of Quiltmakers Vol 5 magazine, and thank them for inviting me along. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pKU0CBxmxNE/T6ILV3-0AAI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/3TtoE9QLIqw/s1600/QMMS-120022-COVER_shadow_200.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pKU0CBxmxNE/T6ILV3-0AAI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/3TtoE9QLIqw/s1600/QMMS-120022-COVER_shadow_200.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is Desert Dash, block 489 on page 68. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have always been a fan of the churndash block, and then when I saw this amazing orange print it had to be a feature in something. The name comes from the colour and the block.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UPk1TklP7cM/T6ILPPFq4sI/AAAAAAAAAJw/IBPIVuCk9N4/s1600/QMMS-120022-NOACK-Desert+Dash+block.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UPk1TklP7cM/T6ILPPFq4sI/AAAAAAAAAJw/IBPIVuCk9N4/s320/QMMS-120022-NOACK-Desert+Dash+block.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Below are four blocks made, joined together.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sepilyiznB8/T6IKU5k2I4I/AAAAAAAAAI4/jIey10tUGEI/s1600/DSCF3082.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sepilyiznB8/T6IKU5k2I4I/AAAAAAAAAI4/jIey10tUGEI/s400/DSCF3082.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And placed on point gives another perspective,<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9d4-Ekq5ctk/T6IKdbcPWbI/AAAAAAAAAJA/-lW_4WAjgIU/s1600/DSCF3083.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9d4-Ekq5ctk/T6IKdbcPWbI/AAAAAAAAAJA/-lW_4WAjgIU/s400/DSCF3083.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is another colour combination, using only two lights, 2 mediums and one dark,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-T2P0CdeLbB4/T6IKk-S4p8I/AAAAAAAAAJI/R8G4oTzUEPc/s1600/DSCF3069.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-T2P0CdeLbB4/T6IKk-S4p8I/AAAAAAAAAJI/R8G4oTzUEPc/s400/DSCF3069.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Four together</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TdnBLAnpnmI/T6IKtqjZCEI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/Gq2uJiRHkCE/s1600/DSCF3084.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TdnBLAnpnmI/T6IKtqjZCEI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/Gq2uJiRHkCE/s400/DSCF3084.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And on point, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mU2rhQP9Iik/T6IK1oSIraI/AAAAAAAAAJY/lAcH4V6xKss/s1600/DSCF3085.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mU2rhQP9Iik/T6IK1oSIraI/AAAAAAAAAJY/lAcH4V6xKss/s400/DSCF3085.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And finally, a blue version, and in this one used only four fabrics.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CfjCZdbHl44/T6IK_7orUDI/AAAAAAAAAJg/siRgQ5Ub0qo/s1600/DSCF3086.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CfjCZdbHl44/T6IK_7orUDI/AAAAAAAAAJg/siRgQ5Ub0qo/s400/DSCF3086.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I had in mind to create a repeat block, giving a secondary design when joinged together, so the size of the finished piece is only limited to your time and fabric. All you would need is a plain border and some basic quilting.<br />
<br />
If you leave a comment, you go into the draw to win some great prizes, including a copy of 100 Blocks magazine, have a look at some other blogs <a href="http://www.quiltmaker.com/blogs/quiltypleasures/">www.quiltmaker.com/blogs/quiltypleasures/</a> and for another visitor who leaves a comment, they will receive a selection of Country Matters patterns.<br />
<br />
I hope you have enjoyed your time here, and I invite you to come back and visit me again soon.<br />
<br />
Thanks for coming,<br />

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6BcMsshNaQU/T5-_o-tnVHI/AAAAAAAAAIM/ITdI7gN7HWM/s1600/joinforblogtour5_200.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6BcMsshNaQU/T5-_o-tnVHI/AAAAAAAAAIM/ITdI7gN7HWM/s1600/joinforblogtour5_200.jpg" /></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Okay, the day is nearly here, my day for blog touring is Friday, May 4, so if you have time to come and have a look to see what all the fuss is about, also check out some other great blogs, that would be great. There will be prizes and giveaways and inspiration galore - <a href="http://www.quiltmaker.com/blogs/quiltypleasures/">www.quiltmaker.com/blogs/quiltypleasures/</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This last week, after cleaning up from school holidays, and cleaning off my sewing table, I had a bit of time to fiddle with a dresden plate using the gorgeous French General range.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MYdTreqD5m4/T5-_y6vCx9I/AAAAAAAAAIU/HFAahlGlLOk/s1600/DSCF3061.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MYdTreqD5m4/T5-_y6vCx9I/AAAAAAAAAIU/HFAahlGlLOk/s400/DSCF3061.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I loved working with these fabrics, good quality and great colour, you could make lots of things with this range.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VLuUxccnIyw/T5_ABMK8GUI/AAAAAAAAAIc/HSkynNK-mN0/s1600/DSCF3071.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VLuUxccnIyw/T5_ABMK8GUI/AAAAAAAAAIc/HSkynNK-mN0/s400/DSCF3071.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And getting to a more finished stage, not sure about a border or not, more on that one later.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iq7JDlDhmOE/T5_AKXqui-I/AAAAAAAAAIk/4Jb6DsnaKb8/s1600/DSCF3078.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iq7JDlDhmOE/T5_AKXqui-I/AAAAAAAAAIk/4Jb6DsnaKb8/s400/DSCF3078.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Lots to do and time for a cuppa, I hope some of you will come and see me on Friday, stay safe till next time,<br />
<br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thought I would share with you this post some class photos from Simply Stitches in Wagga. It is a busy place to be, run by Faye, catering for patchworkers and knitters and stocking everything else in between. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is Doris' version of Whirlygig - isn't it amazing. It was emailed to me and I love to see the different coloured versions coming from people. Thankyou Doris for sending it to me and congratulations on doing a great job with it. </div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yJrq_sIl4EQ/T5UcJP0OlfI/AAAAAAAAAHU/HzZWyQ5K51g/s1600/Whirlygig+QAUG-Doris.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yJrq_sIl4EQ/T5UcJP0OlfI/AAAAAAAAAHU/HzZWyQ5K51g/s400/Whirlygig+QAUG-Doris.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is the ground floor of the shop, where the classes are held, and finally I remembered to take my camera and do some snapping. Looking to the camera lens is left to right, Sally, Carole, Linda, Faye and Betty. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_kBCU3o6N8o/T5UdBPA5wsI/AAAAAAAAAH8/yi8XTqL_4w0/s1600/DSCF3040.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_kBCU3o6N8o/T5UdBPA5wsI/AAAAAAAAAH8/yi8XTqL_4w0/s400/DSCF3040.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Below is Linda's version of Whirlygig, abit hard to see the fabrics from my photo, but it is all coming together now and also looking great. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xS2HKcYRbyo/T5UcjErzb3I/AAAAAAAAAHk/YfhqOO4ODHk/s1600/DSCF3043.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xS2HKcYRbyo/T5UcjErzb3I/AAAAAAAAAHk/YfhqOO4ODHk/s400/DSCF3043.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is Bev, also doing a quilt as you go adapted from another design in gorgeous florals.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Zg7a9TKqTtY/T5UcsvpDBsI/AAAAAAAAAHs/V-LvXiEdNsU/s1600/DSCF3042.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Zg7a9TKqTtY/T5UcsvpDBsI/AAAAAAAAAHs/V-LvXiEdNsU/s400/DSCF3042.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now Karen and Alison are looking to the camera, it was all heads down as they were getting on with their projects. They were all quite busy and wanting to get on with the job. </div>

I am sorry I have not got alot of other news today, still recovering from Easter and a bout of tummy bugs that went through the family. School holidays tend to mean a little more family time and less sewing time. But the fingers are itching, so stay tuned....<br />

Doesn't this bowl look like fun! I hope that you all had a great Easter, a safe drive on the roads and that you ate lots and loads of chocolate just like me. It is great to now have the kids home for holidays and maybe a couple of sleepins for good measure.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
Below are a couple of pics of a huge yellowbox gum tree that couldn't keep standing any longer, the ground just too wet from all the floods recently, that the root system gave in. I always feel a little sad when big trees like this call it a day - many many decades of growing to get this size, they are just magnificent specimens of nature.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0bm3s_eqzJk/T4IVADXqyoI/AAAAAAAAAGo/oRmhLSWcDVc/s1600/DSCF3003.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0bm3s_eqzJk/T4IVADXqyoI/AAAAAAAAAGo/oRmhLSWcDVc/s400/DSCF3003.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A closer view of the base, it just split in half and fell in opposite directions in the paddock, not an easy clean up for up coming tractor work! On the other hand, plenty of fire wood and will make for a spectacular bombfire.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--P0Urjq-zOI/T4IULwAbmqI/AAAAAAAAAGg/t96Bx4ngPU0/s1600/DSCF2997.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--P0Urjq-zOI/T4IULwAbmqI/AAAAAAAAAGg/t96Bx4ngPU0/s400/DSCF2997.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A sign of life, the next generation has already begun, you can just see the new little gumtree sprouting in the middle there.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The cooler weather is staring to really set in now, nearly time to get the fire going - no shortage of fire wood!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Bye for now, Janelle.</div>Janelle Noackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12890721461272172725noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1265473904069828744.post-58510535220876516882012-04-02T09:27:00.001+10:002012-04-02T09:27:58.340+10:00Lucy Boston blocks<br />
I was going to do this post yesterday, then I looked at the calender and realised that it was April Fools day - and knowing my luck with computers, thought that I would wait another day! AND I must say that I loved having that extra hour yesterday morning in bed, we are finally back to normal time.<br />
<br />
A little while ago, I purchased the Lucy Boston quilt book, and being a mad paper piecer, this was another project to start with reproduction fabrics, I was also intrigued by the way you could arrange them to create so many different effects with all sorts of colours and prints. Just gets you so hooked playing with fabric, quite abit of time can be spent playing around with them!!! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nthcDqPWPUE/T3jZ8ES5bMI/AAAAAAAAAFY/KPUb7kxDFHU/s1600/DSCF2991.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nthcDqPWPUE/T3jZ8ES5bMI/AAAAAAAAAFY/KPUb7kxDFHU/s400/DSCF2991.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The stripes of these fabrics are perfect for fussy cutting, and make for a fantastic effect (and good to use up some of those odd ones you don't know what to do with)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JRshl6eX104/T3jaTzNm7DI/AAAAAAAAAFo/ljQDrUQ8-Ls/s1600/DSCF2989.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JRshl6eX104/T3jaTzNm7DI/AAAAAAAAAFo/ljQDrUQ8-Ls/s400/DSCF2989.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UOjKI6Tyjpo/T3ja6BxcaFI/AAAAAAAAAFw/iIqcnoeZ57M/s1600/DSCF2988.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UOjKI6Tyjpo/T3ja6BxcaFI/AAAAAAAAAFw/iIqcnoeZ57M/s400/DSCF2988.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And finally a blue one, <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZdQq5PVDQPY/T3jbI0yUQXI/AAAAAAAAAF4/63t7f5mEEJA/s1600/DSCF2987.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZdQq5PVDQPY/T3jbI0yUQXI/AAAAAAAAAF4/63t7f5mEEJA/s400/DSCF2987.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Hope you have enjoyed the pics,<br />
<br />
Till next time,<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You know when you can't fit anymore stuff into the box in the cupboard, when it overflows and the door won't close, its time for a sort out. Hadn't realised that there where so many of these little chaps in there, so out they came to make way for new fabric purchases. They will go in a new box for a project one day, not sure what yet, they will come in handy for something.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Gp-Ezlfh45M/T2qTii7m0EI/AAAAAAAAAEI/dxknV46-AyI/s1600/DSCF2974.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Gp-Ezlfh45M/T2qTii7m0EI/AAAAAAAAAEI/dxknV46-AyI/s400/DSCF2974.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Reds and browns are amongst my favourite colours in the reproduction ranges, and just had to have a project using them in a small way, alas Redgum was created, a medium quilt and tablerunner and using the economy block design as a base.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ID1IFKSNcac/T2qTsujDWOI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/hPLoPfbDsSk/s1600/red+gum+004.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ID1IFKSNcac/T2qTsujDWOI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/hPLoPfbDsSk/s400/red+gum+004.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is another version of my Dorothy quilt, made a little bigger and donated to our local school.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dpgikMqtQFY/T2qUfpyy3aI/AAAAAAAAAEY/IM7aRswQf1g/s1600/DSCF2978.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dpgikMqtQFY/T2qUfpyy3aI/AAAAAAAAAEY/IM7aRswQf1g/s400/DSCF2978.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Until next time, keep busy with those projects, because as we clean out and tidy up and finish off, it means we can start another one (or two)!<br />
<br />

Firstly apologies for being off line, we have had rather alot of rain in the past week, which has caused major flooding in the towns, and also minor flooding around us with creeks up and paddocks being so water logged that you dare not drive off the track.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Okay, back to more important things like patchwork - if you are a reader of Homespun magazine, then turn to page 82, and this might look familiar. I am very happy with how it has come out in print, let me know your comments.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4YSz7T8dcjg/T17zLvag_hI/AAAAAAAAAEA/CIOWwpo5f9w/s1600/Mrs+March+attic+windows+close+up+no+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4YSz7T8dcjg/T17zLvag_hI/AAAAAAAAAEA/CIOWwpo5f9w/s400/Mrs+March+attic+windows+close+up+no+2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Sharon has breezed through my new design, Level Crossing with a rich combination of reproduction browns, she is just a whizz on the machine, looks fantastic.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Well, will say bye for now, wanting to get back to some stitching myself, see you soon and stay safe.<br />Janelle Noackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12890721461272172725noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1265473904069828744.post-88628740592384693642012-02-26T11:33:00.000+11:002012-02-26T11:33:37.034+11:00Hot off the press...Yes, this is hot off the press, Level Crossing is the new pattern for the month, being printed as I speak. I have had great fun doing this one, chosing some of my favourite reproductions to go in it, and I have based it around fat 1/4's or 25cm cuts.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qiwuzvf_-uw/T0l5Ozo1KuI/AAAAAAAAADQ/--Cr768QnRc/s1600/DSCF2945.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qiwuzvf_-uw/T0l5Ozo1KuI/AAAAAAAAADQ/--Cr768QnRc/s400/DSCF2945.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Below is one of my favourites so far, Mulberries of Amaroo, and once again great for fat 1/4"'s or scraps, also has notes for a large matching cushion.</div>
